Chardonnay Tre Cuvée (2005) This is a cuvée made from the grapes of 3 vineyards using 8 clones and a careful selection of the best resulting barrel lots. It is a showcase of Russian River Valley and Sonoma Coast fruit. The free-run juices underwent predominantly wild yeast fermentations in 100% French oak barrels (33% new) for 11 months with sur lies aging. First impression on the nose is one of fine balance between floral and fruit tones, commingling with feral and visceral scents. This evolves in the glass to spicy, toasty grilled almonds and hints of yellow tree fruits. The mouth gives deep, rich layers of textured fruit and complexity, later melding seamlessly into creamy visceral sensual pleasure. The aftertaste carries the marvelous sensual texture into the late finish. 14.1% alcohol |
